After the excitement of the unveiling of the new Vauxhall Astra at the Frankfurt Motor show, the countdown to its release is finally on. The Astra first landed on the UK’s roads back in 1979.  Over the past 36 years the Astra has seen significant changes, but the latest model has been deemed a game changer. Packed with the latest technology the new Astra featuring Vauxhall’s new OnStar System; a personal connectivity and service assistant that automatically contacts Vauxhall if an airbag is deployed, alerts the emergency services if it can’t communicate with the driver and features an in-car Wi-Fi hotspot, keeping you connected on the move.

However, the technological features are not the most prominent on the updated Astra, this comes in the re-design.  Vauxhall have managed to shift 18 stone from the previous model, this weight-loss adds significant improvements to performance.  With top a top speed of 127mph and an impressive 67.3mpg the New Astra is set to be a very healthy update to one of the most recognised models on the UK’s roads.
