Electric Cars Environmental Impact

EVs can reduce the emissions that contribute to climate change, meaning you can help to improve public health and reduce ecological damage. By charging an EV on renewable energy such as solar or wind, the emissions are minimised even further.

Low Emission Zones are being introduced in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Dundee, allowing access to only the cleanest vehicles. The aim is to transform towns and cities into cleaner, healthier places to live, work and visit. Access to certain parts of these cities may be affected for petrol and diesel vehicles.

Zero emission cars make very little noise when compared to their internal combustion counterparts and could have a significant and positive impact on noise pollution. From July 2019, all manufacturers must now install a system in EVs and hybrids to produce a specified level of noise when they are reversing or running below 12mph to protect vulnerable road users.

Not only can you save a lot of money from driving an electric car, but you will also significantly reduce your carbon footprint. Fully electric cars are emission free and plug-in hybrid cars benefit from low CO2 output, meaning they are much kinder to the environment than conventionally fuelled vehicles.
